The Ontario Energy Board is reminding households and small businesses that as of November 1, 2017, the time-of-use (TOU) price periods are changing, as is the threshold for customers that are paying tiered prices. Please note that TOU prices will not be changing. The OEB’s RPP rates will remain at the levels authorized effective July 1, 2017.

The threshold for the Tiered Regulated Price Plan (RPP) rates increases to the winter level of 1,000 kWh effective November 1. The new On-Peak period runs from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. weekdays, while the Mid-Peak period runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays.

The TOU RPP rates are:

  • On-Peak:             13.2 cents/kWh
  • Mid-Peak:            9.5 cents/kWh
  • Off-Peak:             6.5 cents/kWh

The Tiered RPP rates are:

  • Up to 1,000 kWh:             7.7 cents/kWh
  • Over 1,000 kWh:              9.0 cents/kWh

The OEB’s Global Adjustment credit continues to be $32.90/MWh for eligible customers.

The OEB will next update the rates for May 1, 2018.
