Friday, October 16, 2026

In an effort to strengthen the transmission system and improve reliability, Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. and Hydro One will be performing maintenance to the electrical distribution system in the Bismarck area of West Lincoln on Friday, October 30, 2026, from approximately 12:00a.m. (midnight) to 4:00a.m. This will result in an interruption of hydro services to NPEI customers during the time indicated. All attempts to keep this inconvenience to a minimum will be made.

If you receive an automated call, email or mailed letter from NPEI about the outage, our records indicate that your account will be impacted. You can view our Outage Map the day of the outage to see the affected area.

In the event that inclement weather (rain, lightning, high winds, etc.) or other circumstances that should impede this work, a rain-date will be scheduled and communicated to customers.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 1-877-270-3938, Monday to Friday between 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Below are some tips to help customers prepare for planned outages:

  •          Making sure appliances, such as the stove, are in the off position.
  •          Making sure cellphones and devices are fully charged.
  •          Using a battery-powered alarm clock or cellphone to ensure morning alarms aren't missed.
  •          Keeping refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible and using a cooler with ice for items needed during the planned outage.
