Statement Regarding July 1 Outage

Dear Residents of Lincoln & West Lincoln:

Last night’s widespread power outages in our Lincoln and West Lincoln areas were caused by an issue on Hydro One’s transmission system, which supplies electricity to NPEI’s distribution network. While the root cause was beyond our control, NPEI responsibility to our customers never changes.

As soon as we were notified of the transmission issue, NPEI crews responded immediately, coordinated closely with Hydro One, and remained prepared to restore service as soon as power was made available to our system, says President and CEO Igor Rusic.

We understand the inconvenience and frustration that outages cause, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding shown by our customers. At NPEI, our commitment is to restore power safely, efficiently, and as quickly as possible, while maintaining open and transparent communication.

We will continue working closely with Hydro One and our industry partners to ensure reliable service for the communities we are proud to serve, stated NPEI Board Chair Rocky Vacca.

Sincerely,

Igor Rusic, President & CEO
